I love saving money! I especially love getting things for free or nearly free by using coupons. I guess you could call me a bit of an Extreme Couponer. But you know what? It takes a lot of time to save money!

Time I don’t have as a mom of a toddler and a baby. So I’ve learned a few short cuts which I’m going to show you right now. It’s not a secret, it’s not hard and it’s not illegal.

Don’t spend your time on something that someone else can do for you.

There are plenty of coupon blogs out there who will do all the work and more. All you have to do to save is gather up your coupons and click a few links.

Here’s the deal – as a mom, you can’t do everything. There are a lot of Extreme Couponers out there who catalog every single coupon they can find, print them all, clip them all, and organize them all in a coupon binder.

That will drive you crazy, and take away your time with your family. Unless you have more time than money, you need to cut a few corners.

This is what I do:

1 – I have 2 papers delivered to my front door every Sunday. I gather the coupons and put them in an 8 1/2 x 11 expanding file folder (I don’t cut a single coupon yet) and save them for later.

Then I put each set of weekly coupon inserts into the file folder in it’s own section. When it starts to fill up, I recycle the older inserts.

2 – When I am working on my weekly grocery list, I go to one of my 5 Favorite Coupon Blogs and check out what the deals are. The coupon blog tells me what coupon to use and where it is. There are plenty of things I buy without a deal too, like bread and eggs, things I need every week. Then I write up my list (you can print out a free grocery list and coupon organizer here to help).

3 – I clip all the coupons that the Coupon Blogs told me I would need. Then I head out to the store. I try to pick one store each weekend and I usually end up at Target (see why here) or Safeway.

That’s it! Let them do the work and find the best deals for you. I usually only spend about an hour getting my list together and cutting my coupons.

Without further ado, here are my 5 Favorite Coupon Blogs.

The Krazy Coupon Lady

My favorite coupon site, hands down. Heather and Joanie from Couponzed.com really know what they are doing and I think they cover the most stores and coupon policies across the United States. They have tutorials for each store, weekly coupon matchups, and they find great deals every day on almost everything.

Hip2Save

My second favorite site. Collin at Hip2Save.com has been doing a lot of videos recently, which are super fun. She also does a lot of giveaways.

Coupon Karma (formerly I Love to Gossip)

I love Chrsytie’s style on CouponKarma.com. The site also has a really cool comparison search tool. If you are looking for Razors for example, you can see all the deals going on at the different stores.

Money Saving Mom

Crystal at MoneySavingMom.com blogs about a lot more than coupons. It’s more of a holistic frugal, grounded lifestyle blog.

Live FabuLESS

The final site in our list of 5. What I love best about Jodi’s site at LiveFabuLESS.com is actually the coupon database. It is so easy to use and works just like google.
